The mission of the Specify Software Project is to provide data management software and services to biological research collections to enable them to effectively utilize information associated with specimens and samples from explorations and discoveries of the biological diversity of life.
We do this by robustly supporting the routine computational processing needs of researchers, curators and collection managers with software that manages species identity and occurrence information to meet organizational requirements, and which mobilizes those data over global networks to address broader needs of science and society for biodiversity documentation and conservation.
